Amanda Biggers, LISW-CP

Amanda recognizes that everyone’s life has offered different experiences, privileges, and struggles.  She believes that everyone deserves to have a safe place to heal, rest, and show their most vulnerable self, free of judgment.

Amanda joined Pathways as an associate therapist in 2022 after a move from her home state of Florida to South Carolina. Her education includes both a BSW (2008) and an MSW (2009) from the University of Central Florida.

Amanda has 14 years of broad experience working with diverse populations. She was able to gain valuable insights and experience working in a hospital supporting patients after they received a life-altering cancer diagnosis, who were in crisis, or were needing a life-saving transplant. This setting allowed Amanda the opportunity to also support the medical professionals who were often facing compassion fatigue, burnout, or personal crisis of their own.  Amanda gained additional skills working for a national hospice provider where she served as a coordinator for bereavement camps to help families process and work through traumatic loss and grief experiences.

Throughout her education and work experiences, Amanda has worked with clients to navigate through various life challenges including adjustment to physical and emotional life changes, addictions, trauma, relationship challenges, employment burnout, chronic illnesses, end of life, and grief.  She has a particular interest in helping women navigate through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum as they transition to navigating the many joys and challenges of motherhood.

Ms. Biggers’ fun-loving and nurturing energy helps clients feel safe and able to explore the often difficult places our lives have brought us.  Methods utilized in her treatment approach are unique to each client, but most often include CBT, Solutions-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and incorporating mindfulness practices.

Amanda is married and has two young children who keep her laughing and learning. She enjoys exploring the Greenville area, and loves being so close to the mountains!
